Do It Now!!!

Procrastinating is one heck of a problem, most times we get all wrapped up in a task and we get tempted to put it aside for something else. If you search on how to stop procrastinating you would find hundreds of articles some telling you a lot of things you might like to try or have actually tried but have proven to be ineffective. Well, today I would be sharing three practical tips using Nancy as reference. Nancy is a twenty nine year entrepreneur, a mother of two healthy boys to add. She is happily married to a cop who barely stays at home. She is a writer and a baker even though she claims she writes as a hobby. Now moving to focus, our first tip  would be “listing it”.

Listing It

This is more than just making a random to do list, it connotes outlisting the task and picking up the priorities. What i mean is this, Nancy has an order at which she carried out her activities. She is to make fifty cup cakes for her friend’s baby shower tomorrow, her six year old son is having bring your parents to school day and of course, she has her daily articles to post on her personal blog. To add, the list of personal things she  needs to do today are; doing the laundry, making breakfast, and waxing. All she has to do is make a priority list by arranging her activities according to their urgencies. In other to make things work, Nancy could decide that writing on her blog is the most urgent activity to do, the next task could be preparing breakfast and the next, taking Danny to school. After that, baking comes next, laundry and then waxing. However the pattern she used in achieving her goal is what matters. if for instance she had chosen to bake first, it would mean the kids would be late for school and her schedule be in disarray.

Rewards

This is one tip that can come in handy.Nancy could successfully finish her tasks and decide to treat her self on a spa session to let off steam. Well your rewards can be something as simple as seeing a movie, taking a protein shake, buying your self a treat, taking a walk etc. Rewarding yourself after successfully achieving your tasks does not only make you fulfilled but also releases feel-good hormones known as endorphins. When we successfully achieve our plans, it boosts our confidence and stretches our stress limits.

Just DO It

Another way of eradicating procrastination is just doing it. This is a method that does not require much strategy, deciding to make up your mind to achieve a task is like a tremendous boost  towards achieving a goal. it is about, hitting up that prospect , it is  taking that extra course, it is about, having that conversation with your kid, and getting into that workout session or making that business plan. Just doing it sounds quite rash, having that mindset sets fear aside and gives you the push that you need. Procrastination does not make the task easier, it does not fix anything. It only takes more of your time.

So on this one you have to find someone to keep tabs on you, some one ready to go through thick and thin with you as you handle your process through stopping the habit of procrastinating.
